These don’t only look good but they they are also delicious and can be filled with your choice of sweet or savory filling!

Preheat oven at 400 degrees F
Bake for 12 to 15 min or until golden brown
Makes approximately 10 to 12
Potato and Peas filling
Red Chutney video: for the bread:
4 cups white all purpose flour
salt to taste
1 cup shortning
3 eggs
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp yeast
1 cup warm water
1 cup warm milk
For garnish I used:
black sesame seeds
red chutny
white sesame seeds
dried parsly flakes
First combine the yeast and sugar and put about two tablespoons of warm water in the yeast and sugar mixture and keep it aside to proof.
Mix the flour and salt together and add the shortening, massage the shortening and flour together until you have a crumbly mixture, next add the eggs and bind the dough again for about a minute then add the warm milk and bind the dough again adding the warm water slowly and the yeast mixture. Let the dough rise until it is doubled in size. Once it is proofed make small balls and roll one of the dough balls and roll it out to about 4 to 5 inches and stuff it with the potato mixture, roll them out to about 3 to 4 inches and make about 10 to 12. Make about 1 inch slits leaving the middle intact. Follow the video to show how to assemble the petals. Brush with an egg mixture and garnish with what ever you like.
