Sweet and crispy gaujas which is a Bengali sweet dish that is fried and topped with sprinkles, a great addition to any meal or a tea time snack

Recipe:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp custard powder (corn starch, potato starch, arrow root flour)
2 1/2 tbsp ghee or butter
1/4 tsp salt enough warm water to bind dough enough oil to fry sprinkles or your choice of garnish sugar syrup

ing:
2 cups sugar
2 cups of water simmer for 10 min turn stove off add
1 tsp lemon juice cardamon powder saffron

Method: Start of by combinning the flour and custard powder, mix than add the ghee or butter and start binding the dough, adding water slowly until you have a nice soft pliable dough, let this dough rest 20 min. Roll out the dough then with a cookie cutter make the shapes and follow the method in the video by making the slits and pinching the two ends. Drop them in the oil and fry them until they are golden brown. Dip the gaujas in the chasni or suger syrup and garnish with sprinkles.
