Nothing beats the smell of homemade bread that comes out fresh from the oven. My mom has been making this bread for over 40 years and it’ is one of the simple, easy, delicious bread recipes you will ever have…. Give it a try!
Naan
6 cups White Flour
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 cup milk
pinch of salt,
1 cup sugar
2 tsp yeast
11/2 cups lukewarm water
2 tbsp Fennel Seeds
Yellow Color (Optional)
Poppy seeds (Optional)
Method:
In a separate bowl add 1/2 cup sugar, yeast, milk and the yellow color. Mix really well and wait till it ferments. In a mixer add the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, fennel, shortening and eggs, stir on low than slowly add the fermented mixture until the dough has come together. The dough should be soft and sticky. Let dough rise until it has doubled in size. Preheat oven to 375 and make desired mounds and brush them with the egg mixture and sprinkle poppy seeds on it and stick in in the oven for 20 min or until the top is nice and brown. Use a serrated knife to cut the naan when it is cool. Can be cut in thin slices and put in the oven on 200 until hard to make homemade toast…..
Enjoy!
