These donuts are super easy to make and they are even more fun to make with kids and or grandkids, seeing their face when these blow up like a balloon is priceless. They are semi hollow on the inside and super soft and crispy on the outside. My family loved them and when they ask for something over and over again that means I have to make a video and share it with you all.
Ing:
2 cups of oil for frying
2 cups all purpose unbleached flour
1 cup warm milk
2 tsp yeast
1 tbsp sugar Mix these and keep it aside until mixture is nice and frothy
2 tbsp soft unsalted butter (to be used after the dough is done binding)
1/2 tsp salt
Method: Start by adding the yeast and sugar in warm milk and keep it aside to activate and start frothing. In a big bowl add the flour and salt, once the milk mixture is ready add it slowly and make a stiff dough, once everything comes together, mix in the soft butter and I used my kitchen aid and let it go with a dough hook attached, I let the machine go for at least 5 minutes until the dough was super soft and shiny. Let it rest and double in size. Once you have a good rise flatten and roll it out so its about 3 to 4 mm and use a donut cutter and cut the donuts to whatever size you like, put it on a pastry cloth and let it come to a rise again before you start frying them. Heat up your oil so it’s nice and warm, put a little piece of dough in it it should start bubbling, this means it’s ready to fry all of them, keep the heat on medium. Once these are done frying you can then decide to either dip them in sugar and cinnamon or powdered sugar. Quantity will depend on the size you decide to make.
Enjoy!
